One patient journey.

01 · The decision

When living with the pain stopped being an option

Three years after Mr Kumar first treated a meniscus tear, Scott's knee had worn through to bone on bone. The pain was spreading to his hip and glutes, and his walks with his dogs were getting shorter. Over a week of conversations, Mr Kumar answered every question, and Scott made his own decision to go ahead.

The upside had to be better than just going downhill with the deteriorating mobility I had.
02 · The choice
A shared decision

Why Scott chose a robotic knee replacement

Scott had researched his options and wanted the robotic approach: a smaller intrusion, finer implant accuracy, and tolerances set on 3D imaging. Mr Kumar talked through the benefits and trade-offs, then supported the choice that gave Scott the most confidence.

He listened to me and did something that made me more comfortable. I was really pleased I went down that route. It was perfect.
03 · The outcome

Back out with the dogs, on any ground, without pain

Scott has four big dogs and a lot of land, and walks them twice a day. Before surgery, uneven ground and downhill slopes meant pain and caution, and for a few weeks his wife walked them instead. Now he is back to it himself, putting his foot down on any angle without a second thought.

I have no pain. I have no reservation about putting my foot down on an angle. It just isn't a problem.
